Filters and technology
How often should the filter be changed?
Depending on your water quality and how often you shower, the filter replacement frequency can vary. Here you'll find guidelines on how often the filter should be changed.
How does the Aia Pure filter work?
By combining different filter media, your water is not only cleaned, but also refined:
- High-density PP cotton: The first barrier against rust, sand and microparticles.
- Activated charcoal made from coconut shells: Absorbs chlorine and unpleasant odors like a sponge.
- KDF-55: Special alloy that binds heavy metals (lead, mercury, nickel).
- Alkaline & mineral stones: Balance the pH level and keep your skin soft.
Why does the filter need to be changed?
A water filter is like a sponge: eventually, its absorption capacity is exhausted. When the filter elements (such as the PP cotton) become saturated, the water pressure drops and the filter performance decreases.
Regularly changing your hair mask ensures that your protective barrier against limescale and pollutants remains intact. Treat your skin and hair to the quality they deserve – every single day.
What happens if I don't change the filter?
When the filter reaches its saturation point, it loses its effectiveness – the water then flows through unfiltered. Furthermore, deposits and bacteria can accumulate in the filter over time, which can then come into contact with your skin and mucous membranes via the shower water. Replacing the filter in a timely manner guarantees you consistently cleaner and softer water.
Effects and functions
What effect does the filter shower head have on my hair?
Unfiltered tap water often contains chlorine and limescale, which roughen the cuticle of your hair. A shower filter ensures that your hair is smoother after washing and retains a natural shine . Colored hair especially benefits: Because harmful minerals and chemicals are reduced, your hair color fades significantly more slowly. Hair is easier to comb after showering and less prone to split ends.
How does the filter affect my scalp?
Many people suffer from dry, itchy scalp or dandruff, often a reaction to chlorine residue in the water. The filter reliably removes these irritants. The result is a soothed scalp and regulated sebum production. If you tend to have oily roots or a very sensitive scalp, switching to filtered water can often make all the difference, as the skin's natural protective barrier is no longer compromised.
What effect does the filter have on my skin on my face and body?
Your skin is your largest organ and often reacts sensitively to the ingredients in our tap water. A shower filter acts like a protective shield for your skin barrier.
1. Less dryness and feelings of tension
Limescale and chlorine strip the skin of its natural oils. Without a filter, the typical feeling of tightness often occurs after showering. Filtered water is noticeably softer, protects the skin's natural acid mantle, and ensures that it remains supple and hydrated after showering.
2. Help for skin irritations and redness
The skin on the face is particularly thin and sensitive. Chlorine residues can cause irritation, redness, and even itching. By reducing pollutants and heavy metals, the skin is soothed. Many customers report a significant improvement in skin problems such as neurodermatitis, eczema, or very dry skin.
3. Anti-aging and cleaner pores
Hard water can clog pores and impair the effectiveness of cleansing products. Filtered water allows cleansing gels and soaps to be rinsed off more thoroughly, leaving no residue. The result is a smoother complexion and better absorption of subsequent skincare products such as serums or body lotions.
4. Natural Glow
Because the filter removes aggressive oxidants like chlorine, oxidative stress on skin cells is reduced. This supports a healthy, radiant appearance all over the body – from the sensitive facial area to the shins, which often dry out the fastest.
In which cases is a filter shower head particularly useful?
A filter shower head is an upgrade in almost every household, but it is particularly recommended in the following cases:
- In case of hard water: If you quickly notice limescale stains in the shower, your water is very hard – a filter protects skin and hair from the “drying effect”.
- For sensitive skin (neurodermatitis/eczema): Reducing chlorine and irritants can alleviate skin irritations.
- For beauty enthusiasts: If you use high-quality hair and skin care products, the filter ensures that they can work optimally instead of being blocked by limescale.
- In old buildings: Rust particles or heavy metals from old pipes often get into the shower water, which the filter effectively stops.
